cray-cray fri-day!

Okay, so Friday was the annual Mustang cruise that we go on.  This year it was to beautiful Crystal Mountain Resort.  We all met at Bellevue CC to get directions and a map of the route and then we were off.  We took back roads mostly from Issaquah to Crystal.  It was beautiful (cue the screeching record sound) until we hit two miles of one lane road where you had to wait for the pilot car and they only let about 20 cars through at a time.  That was about 40 minutes of torture.  But I did get to see JC scale a 10 foot dirt embankment and almost eat it on the way down.  So we finally get on our way and make the turn on to 410, what a crappy crappy road.  I understand it's technically a mountain pass, but under no circumstances should a classic car be traveling that road.  Too late to turn back now!  We finally get up the resort and it is beautiful!  The sun is trying to peek out and everything.  We go purchase our gondola tickets right away and head up.  JC's mom is afraid of heights but she took the plunge and went up too.  The views were incredible (even with the clouds blocking Mt. Rainier.)  There is a restaurant on the top of the mountain, the highest in the state in fact.  We had a lovely overpriced lunch and then went back outside to take some pics before descending in the gondola.

We get back the car and this lovely couple has waited by our car to ask us how we got a childseat in the Mustang.  JC is happy to show him and drops the backpack he was carrying right by the open car door.  Blah blah blah 5 minutes later some people we caravanned with were leaving so I grabbed Addy and went to the other side of the car.  Next thing you know the car that was parked in the row behind us and one spot over is running over our backpack, with both tires.  Yeah.  Swear words are spit out as everyone runs over.  Lets take a quick roll call: one DSLR, one telephoto lens, one regular lens, binoculars, my wallet, some food for Addy, her cuppy, a survival kit and some miscellaneous items.  My wallet (metal framed) is dead, mangled.  The telephoto lens is busted.  The regular lens has a funky crease near the eye.  The camera has some scuffs but appears to be taking pics ok.  The binoculars are ok but their case is not.  The backpack has some road rash on the back from being spit out by the back tire.  It's funny to me that the thing I'm most upset about is my stupid clearance rack Target wallet.  I have never had a better wallet.  I think the lady felt bad but I still don't know how she didn't see it.  I'm taking the camera and lenses in next week to be checked out and get estimates for repairs or replacement.  Oh well, I'm over it.

We had a lovely drive back home until we hit traffic in Bellevue, Bothell, Lynnwood, Everett and Marysville. :) At least Addy took a nap.

Right before we left
 Hurry up Daddy...
 Addy's first gondola ride!
 Up up and away
I love the way she is looking at him

 Better on the way down
That parking lot was full of Mustangs
This is the picture I took just after our camera got ran over.  Had to make sure it still worked.

Favorite things

Addy's favorite things right now:

Daddy - always all the time.
Cheese- and she asks for it constantly.
Apple - juice or sauce. Good luck differentiating.
Chester - the original d o double g.
Eleanor - the new dog but just as popular.
Fish - as in goldfish crackers.
Dolly - still
Cheers - yep as is in cheers now let's drink. She tends to cheers everything though forks, bowls, etc.
Elmo - he's ok too.
More - of ANYTHING.
No - even when she means yes.
Moy - which is mommy but she only says it when she means daddy. Just kidding, she asks for me a few times.
Whipped cream - if my daughter ever comes up to you with her pointer finger out and her thumb up (think play gun style) she wants whipped cream from a can squished on her finger.
Music - but only good music. If it isn't good she won't bob her head.
Sunglasses - all the time, indoors or out, sunny or rainy doesn't matter.

That's my little sweet pea in a nutshell.

sewing

So I had some fabric laying around and I decided to try and make Addy a 4th of July dress since I hadn't gotten her an outfit to wear. I did not have a pattern so I took some measurements and winged it.

It didn't turn out too bad. The only problem is she won't wear it. Oh well it was sorta fun to make it.
